I am a fan of the series Detective Conan. It started with watching "Case Closed" on Cartoon Network. I enjoyed every episode, and when it went off the air, I ordered Funimation releases. Soon those tapered off, so I turned to the internet and found plenty of Detective Conan available with English subtitles. I have every DVD I have been able to find. I'm mostly a fan of the TV series and movies because I can find them in English. I have American releases of several mangas too.
My favorite character is Wataru Takagi, a police officer who appears in a brown jacket early on in the series (later in the manga), mostly a background character, and then later his character is developed (and better drawn). He was my favorite character even in the very early part of the series -- before he was ever really a "character" and was instead just the cop in the suit. Of course, after I acquired some of the movies and later episodes, I appreciate him even more, and now my roommates (who used to make fun of my fandom) like him too... Takagi is a hard working guy with a good head on his shoulders, but he is a bit clumsy and lacks confidence. He also cannot focus on anything when Sato is around. Takagi proves his usefulness time and time again.
Some other random Takagi trivia:
~He is named after the seiyuu who plays him as well as Genta and Kamen Yaiba.
~Detective novelist Takagi Akimitsu may have helped inspire his name as well (most characters in the series have name links to detective literature).
~He is a fan of professional wrestling.
~He has been on the Beika police force for at least a year but less than three years.
~He was present at Shinichi's first case.
